Air India flight hits wall at Trichy airport, diverted to Mumbai An Air India flight with 136 passengers on board ran into the boundary wall of Trichy airport late last night. The express flight was diverted to Mumbai. All passengers and crew members were safe. Also Read: Delhi: Air India passengers stranded at International Airport for eight hours The Dubai-bound Air India flight was diverted to Mumbai after two wheels hit the boundary wall at 1:19 am on Friday. The flight landed safely in Mumbai. There were some noticeable damages to the aircraft. Air India officials arranged another flight for the passengers. An internal probe into the mishap has begun. Director General of Civil Aviation will be investigating the matter. Two wheels of the flight touched the top part of the boundary wall. Following which, the top portion of the wall collapsed. According to the Director General, the aircraft seemed to have overshot the runway.  The flight’s antenna was reportedly damaged. The broken parts of the antenna were found on the ground.
