Flower vendor gets Rs 30 crore credit in wife’s bank account

A flower vendor from Channapatna town in Karnataka was shocked after he found a credit of Rs 30 crore in his wife’s bank account. The flower vendor has been identified as Syed Malik Burhan. The incident came to light when Syed Burhan was struggling to meet expenses for medical emergency in the family. As per reports, the bank officials knocked the doors of Burhan on December 2 and asked him to explain how the money came to his account. He said that "they came searching our house on December 2. They said that a huge amount has been deposited in my wife's account and asked me to come to the bank along with my wife Rehana carrying Aadhaar card." Burhan also claimed that bank staff pressurized him to sign a document but he refused. He recalled that he had purchased a saree through an online portal following which he received a call asking his bank details. He was told that he had won a car. Prior to this, the Channapatna town police in Ramanagara district registered a case of forgery and impersonation under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code on January 9. According to the police, there were several financial transactions, which Burhan was unaware of.
