Fresh snowfall in Kashmir Valley
Kashmir Valley witnessed fresh snowfall on Friday that disrupted the normal life. According to the Meteorological Department, this rough weather would continue in the state till Sunday.
According to the Meteorological Department, “light snowfall in the plains and moderate to heavy snowfall in higher reaches was reported today. Weather is expected to remain inclement during the next 72 hours and this is likely to affect air and surface transport to and from the valley.”
The fresh snowfall disrupted normal life in Srinagar and Kashmir valley. The white thick blanket of snow covered road and open spaces. Very few people came out of their houses, for important work only.
The minimum temperature in various places in the Kashmir valley also dropped because of the snowfall. Gulmarg is freezing at minus 7.8 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam at minus 3.0 and Srinagar at 1.1.
