Fuel prices: Diesel becomes cheaper by 8 paise per litre Fuel prices saw another day of fall on Wednesday. Non-branded diesel prices were cut by 8 paise per litre while petrol became cheaper by 10-12 paise per litre across various cities in the country. According to the website of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the price of petrol was retailing at Rs 77.72 per litre in Delhi, compared to Rs 77.83 on Tuesday. In other major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, petrol was retailing at Rs 85.54, Rs 80.37 and Rs 80.68 per litre respectively. Similarly, non-branded diesel was priced at Rs 68.80 per litre in Delhi, Rs 71.35 in Kolkata, Rs 73.25 in Mumbai and Rs 72.64 in Chennai. In last eight days including today, petrol has become cheaper by 73 paise per litre in Delhi Meanwhile, Indian rupee, another deciding factor for retail fuel prices in India, has been hovering around the 67 mark against the US dollar in last few days. Before the eight consecutive price cuts, petrol and diesel rates were increased continuously for 16 days starting May 14. -PTC News
