Full attendance at school for 13 years! Amritsar girl makes way to India Book of Records 100 percent attendance at school for 13 years and eight months has earned Avneet Kaur (17) a place in the India Book of Records. She was a student of Ajit Vidialay Senior Secondary School from nursery till Class XII in Amritsar. She secured 85 per cent marks in the PSEB Class XII exams. “The school management honoured me when I completed five years without leave. This motivated me to go the distance,” she says. Mother Manbir Kaur, a housewife, and father Narinderpal Singh, a vendor at the Golden Temple, are proud of her. Manbir credits the record to Avneet’s willpower. “She was determined to attend school every day. Her elder brother, Pawandeep Singh, also had a huge role to play.” “Pawandeep ensured that she remained on course,” adds Manbir. Rama Mahajan, school Principal, says, “She has been a meritorious student all the way. We wish her all the best.” -PTC News
