Gas tanker blast at a petrochemical factory in Uttar Pradesh Bijnor At least six people were killed and eight critically injured while three are missing in a blast in a gas tanker at a private petrochemical factory in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Gas tanker blast petrochemical factory Uttar Pradesh Bijnor Labourers Bijnor superintendent of police (SP) Umesh Kumar Singh said the incident happened at Mohit Petro Chemical Factory on Nagina road under Kotwali city jurisdiction when the labourers were repairing a methane gas tank. Locals alleged the accident took place as the labourers were asked to repair a leak in the tank without emptying it out Singh said six labourers died on the spot while six others were rushed to the district hospital where their condition is said to be critical.people. The impact of the blast was such that bodies of the labourers were thrown several metres away in the nearby fields, eyewitnesses said. Singh said a rescue operation is already underway and heavy police force has been deployed at the site to avert any trouble as hundreds of people. -PTC News-
