Ghaziabad couple found dead in bathroom on Holi, Postmortem 'inconclusive'

Ghaziabad couple found dead in bathroom on Holi: Holi celebrations had turned tragic for a family in Ghaziabad after two of its members were found dead under mysterious circumstances on March 02. Neeraj Singhania and his wife Ruchi, who got married four years ago, were found dead in the bathroom of their house after the couple celebrated Holi till late in the evening. No injury marks were found on their bodies. The postmortem report stated that the cause of death was uncertain. The Uttar Pradesh Police are now waiting for viscera reports to find out how they died. “We have not received any complaint from the family, but an FIR has been registered. The family is in shock. We will record their statements soon. We have sent the viscera samples to a forensic lab. We have asked the lab to expedite the delivery of their report; it will take around 20-25 days,” the daily quoted Samir Malik, SHO, Indirapuram police station, Ghaziabad, as saying. A family friend of the couple said, “There was a gas geyser in the bathroom, but I heard that it had not been working. There was no water in the bucket either. There must have been a problem with the electricity or gas being released from the geyser… The couple was very happy in their marriage… these claims of foul play or suicide are false.” As per police, the two were found naked in the bathroom, with strips of tablets to treat blood pressure strewn near them. -PTC News
