Gifts received by PM Narendra Modi being e-auctioned

The Centre is selling a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on silk at a base price of Rs 2.5 lakh in an online auction. The portrait was gifted to him by a textile firm owner. This is part of the auction of 2,700 gifts received by the Prime Minister from across the country. The auction is being held from September 14 and the proceeds will be used for conservation and rejuvenation of the Ganga, said Union culture minister Prahlad Singh Patel, who inaugurated the exhibition-cum-e-auction of gifts received by the Prime Minister in the past year. The exhibition being held at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, features more than 2,700 articles. The auction is being conducted on the website, www.pmmementos.gov.in from Saturday. It will continue till October 3. The price range of the mementos varies from a minimum of Rs 200 to a maximum of Rs 2.5 lakh. PTC News
