Goa Election 2022: State CEO, Koo launch #PledgeToVote campaign to promote voting
Panaji, February 10: Ahead of the crucial assembly polls in Goa on February 14, the Chief Electoral Officer in the state in collaboration with multi-lingual micro-blogging platform, Koo, launched a campaign, #PledgeToVote, to encourage the eligible citizens to cast their votes.
#PledgeToVote campaign aims to raise awareness among people about the importance of voting as a central pillar of democracy and to promote voting.
CEO, Goa has been extensively reaching out to the voters with a range of interactive activities such as kite making, T-shirt designing, Konkani Kantaram, mehendi and rangoli, as well as the use of hashtags such as #NoVoterToBeLeftBehind and #GoVoteGoa.
In the midst of the ongoing pandemic, CEO Goa has also been sharing videos on the precautionary measures taken by the Election Commission for public safety.

Meanwhile, the Koo app, as a neutral and transparent platform, has been striving to enhance public confidence in the electoral process by launching projects targeted at improving voter literacy and ensuring free and fair elections.
The Koo Voters Guide, which covers voter rights and responsibilities in many languages, including Marathi, and helps first-time voters to make an informed decision, was recently released by the platform. The app is also a signatory to the ‘Voluntary Code of Ethics’ by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), which advocates for the transparent use of social media during elections.
Furthermore, Koo has put in place a comprehensive framework to efficiently handle feedback and deliver timely turnarounds in order to identify and combat misinformation and malice on the platform.
"Voting is a fundamental right given to all citizens in a democracy. Every vote counts and we are privileged to collaborate with the Chief Electoral Officer, Goa through the #PledgeToVote campaign that aims to build greater public trust and encourage people to vote," said a Koo spokesperson.
"We will follow the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India to ensure that the Koo App is leveraged in an optimal manner to bring about a positive and progressive change in society," the app stated.
