New Delhi [India], July 19: Union Minister for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on Tuesday informed in a written reply in Lok Sabha that the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) does not maintain any specific data with respect to the arrest of journalists. Rai said," 'Police' and 'Public Order are State subjects under the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India and State Governments are responsible for the prevention, detection and investigation of crimes and for prosecuting the criminals through their law enforcement agencies."
