Govt: Indus dolphin is state’s aquatic animal
Punjab Government on Friday announced Indus Dolphin as Punjab state’s aquatic animal. Indus dolphin is an endangered dolphin which is found only in Beas River.

It was announced at a meeting of the State Board wildlife, chaired by Captain Amarinder Singh. The rare aquatic mammal would be the flagship spices for the conservation of the Beas eco-system.

The Chief Minister of Punjab gave the approval to declare Kanjli Wetland and holy Kali Bein as a wildlife conservation reserve to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.
