Gujarat: Locals in Kheda risk lives to cross canal through collapsed bridge

Continuous Heavy rains in the past few days have made the life Gujarat locals very miserable. Locals in Gujarat's Kheda town here, risk their lives to commute through a bridge which collapsed two months ago, due to heavy rainfall. Not only adults but minor children too, cross the bridge by risking their lives on their way to school. From past two months, locals have been requesting the authorities to construct the bridge to connect Naika and Bherai Villages. In the absence of the bridge, the locals have to travel a distance of 10 km instead of 1 km. Kheda collector IK Patel has assured that the construction of the bridge will resume soon. He also said, “ The construction work will be resumed immediately. Only due to rain the work of the bridge has not begun." -PTC News
