H-1B visas holders : New regulation may send bank more than 500,000 Indian techies

H-1B visas holders : New regulation may send bank more than 500,000 Indian techies. States of America is taking into account new regulations aimed at preventing the extension of H-1B visa, largely used by Indian IT professionals, as part of president Donald Trump's "Buy American, Hire American" initiative, flashed in a media. India's 500,000 Indian techies might be forced to return home from America if the Trump administration decides not to extend H-1B visa of those waiting for permanent residency (Green Card) is implemented. The proposal which is being shared between the Department of Homeland Security Department (DHS) heads is part of Trump's "Buy American, Hire American" initiative promised during the 2016 campaign, US-based news agency McClatchy's DC Bureau reported. As there is a huge backlog of Green Card applicants, mainly for countries like India and China, hundreds of thousands of workers from these countries spend 10-12 years in what is mirthlessly called H-1B. The only comfort they are currently sheltered under is, that they can remain in the US while the Green Card is being processed. The Trump administration is considering ending that concession. -PTC News
