Heavy rains accompanied by hailstorm damaged the food bowl states of Punjab. Heavy rains and hailstorm damage the crops in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Patiala and other parts of the state.

The government is yet to collect data on crop loss. After that only, the extent of damage could be accessed.
Though the rain has brought respite from hot weather in Punjab and Chandigarh, but also spelled doom on several farmers in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Patiala.
