Happy Birthday Harsimrat Kaur Badal: The Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing in the Government of India and Member of Parliament from Bathinda in Punjab is celebrating her 53rd birthday on Thursday. Harsimrat Badal is not only the Union Minister but a member of Shiromani Akali Dal and wife of SAD Supremo Sukhbir Singh Badal, who also served as the former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab. 

Harsimrat Kaur Badal was born on July 25, 1966, in the national capital Delhi to Satyajit and Sukhmanjus Majithia. Kaur Badal is a matriculate and also holds a diploma in textile design. Harsimrat Kaur Badal did her schooling from Loreto Convent School in New Delhi. She hitched in relation with Sukhbir Singh Badal on November 21, 1991. Sukhbir Singh Badal is having two daughters and a son. Harsimrat Kaur Badal’s brother Bikram Singh Majithia is MLA in Shiromani Akali Dal. 

Current Union Minister began her political career with the Lok Sabha Elections 2009 when she was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Bathinda constituency. She gave her first speech on December 3, 2009, and in a debut, she expressed her concern over the victims and survivors of the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots. In 2014 General Elections, she was re-elected as an MP from Bathinda defeating Congress and People’s Party of Punjab joint candidate, Manpreet Singh Badal.

Likewise, she was appointed as State Minister for Food Processing in the Modi Cabinet. For the third time in a row, she was undefeated in Bathinda during Lok Sabha Elections 2019. She defeated Congress candidate Amrinder Singh Raja Warring in a close encounter with around 21000 votes. Furthermore, she continued as Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing in the Government of India.
