Speaking on the Motion of Thanks to the Address of the Hon' ble President of India,Union Minister Food Processing Industries, S. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today questioned the Loan Waiver Model of Rahul Gandhi that Congress has adopted in st at es like Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh and that Congress party expects to replicate nationally.

Harsimrat Badal lambasted the Congress Party President Shri Rahul Gandhi for pedaling a fake loan waiver scheme to con poor farmers of their votes in the run up to the elections 2019. She said that Congress President was indulging in tactics which are inimical to the interests of farmers and because of their gimmickry, number of suicides have gone u considerably and banks have stopped lending to farmers. Quoting from the Punjab Election Manifesto 2017 of the Congress Party, S. Badal said that trusting farmers of Punjab were conned by two major scheme. One that promised t hem 'Kurki Karza Kh atam Fasal Kee Poori Rakam' and another that promised 'Har Ghar mein Ek Job'.

She also showed advertisements published by Congress Party and the application forms with photograph of Capt Amrinder Singh atop promising any farmer who would fill the form shall not have to pay a single rupee to the bank within days of Congress coming to power and all his loan would be t he responsibility of the Congress party. She mentioned the name of Budh Singh a farmer who was shown in the advert isements of Congress party that after 2 years have passed even Budh Singh is also awaiting the waiver though he was to be t he first recipient of the loan waiver. S. Badal said that Congress party despite two years had passed had not given any loan waiver in Punjab. She claimed th at t his has result ed into 700 farmers suicides in two years and also the announcement made by the Congress government that the family of farmer who commits suicide shall be given a job and Rs.10 lakh as compensation has not been fulfilled as yet.

Badal apprised the House that same scheme which was utter failure and was used to con poor farmers of Punjab was replicated in Madhya Pradesh, Chhatt isgarh, and Rajasthan and after Congress taking over teams were sent to Punjab to study their loan waiver scheme.

Badal said that during 2017 election manifesto of Congress Party, another promise was made that Congress if voted to power shall give one job in each family - and applications were' invited for an assured government Job on the behest of Shri Rahul Gandhi. Out of 60 lakh families of Punjab, not even one family got any job, except the relative of Shri Ravneet Singh Bittu the Congress MP from Ludhiana she said.
Badal also informed that the dream project of Shri Rahul Gandhi to create jobs in his constituency had to be shelved because Rahul Gandhi was not interested. "Amethi Mega Food Park was the dream project of Shri Rahul Gandhi which was sanctioned in 2010 and it was to be ready in 2012, but even in 2014 not a brick could be laid. But when elections were nearing, Shri Rahul Gandhi laid a Foundation Store and claimed that he would create jobs. Later the project had to be closed down."

Smt. Badal also said that it was under the Prime Ministership of Shri Narendra Modi that persons accused of 1984 Sikh genocide were arrested and police, CBI and prosecuting agencies have performed their duties well. She also thanked the Prime Minister for his initiative for opening of Sri Kartarpur Sahib to the Sikh Community.

In her 25 minute Address, S. Badal praised Ayushman Bharat Yojana a path-breaking much needed internvention and said "for the last 70 years India's poor had to sell their family jewels, house or land to get medical treatment, but for the first time this Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been launched which is aimed at providing health care benefit of Rs.5 lakhs to 50 percent of population. But some state governments including Congress government in Punjab have deprived the people of Punjab of this scheme.
