Haryana roadways employees on two-day strike from today The Haryana roadways workers union has called a two-day strike from Tuesday against the government’s attempt to bring privatization in the department. The government decided to hire 720 private buses from private operators.  The government would pay them more per kilometer than the roadways department usually spends. Also read: Haryana Roadways Strike Fizzles Out There are 4,100 buses in which more 13 lakh people travel daily. There are 19,000 employees in Haryana Roadways. The roadways union said that no buses including 39 Volvo buses will ply on Tuesday and Wednesday in Haryana. Employees union leader told the media sources that government should fill all the vacancies in the department. It would bring huge profits to the department.
