Haryana: Youth gets death penalty for raping, killing eight-year-old
The local Rewari court in Haryana awarded capital punishment to a 22-year-old boy for raping and murdering an eight-year-old girl. The session judge termed the incident rarest of rare case.

Announcing the verdict, he said the case was no less brutal than the 2012 Nirbhaya case incident and it deserves a death penalty.

The 19 year old teen was booked under Sections 372 , 376 , 201 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The incident occurred on June 9 when the victim was alone at her rented accommodation in Bawal in Haryana. The convicted boy, also lived in a rented room in the same house, lured the victim into his room and committed the crime.
