Heavy rainfall across Punjab exposes poor sanitation, leaves ‘posh’ areas water logged
Amritsar, September 24: Bringing relief from the scorching heat rain lashed across different districts of Punjab early Saturday morning. A significant drop in temperature was recorded due to heavy rain. Due to the rain in Chandigarh, Mohali and Amritsar, the weather became pleasant, but along with this, people also faced many problems. Last night in Amritsar, roads were flooded due to intermittent rain.

Due to the rain, the heritage road leading to Sri Darbar Sahib is filled with water. Every day thousands of people come to visit Sri Harmandir Sahib. Pilgrims had to face a lot of trouble due to the flooding of the roads. The flood of water on the heritage road exposed the claims about the administration's arrangements. In this way, the main road of Sri Damdama Sahib, the fourth throne of the Sikh community, was flooded with heavy rain at Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda.
Heavy rain at this period may also affect the paddy crop ready for the harvest.
