Heavy rainfall has brought much-needed respite to the residents of Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi after sultry weather conditions persisted for long as the maximum temperatures were above normal limits at most places.
Likewise, heavy rain was reported in Gurugram that led to waterlogging, and traffic congestion across the district. Even as the power supply was snapped at various parts of the city.
Moderate to intense rainfall was witnessed over the parts of Jhajjar, Rohtak, Sonipat, Panipat, Gurugram, Jind, Rewari, Kurukshetra, Kaithal districts, and adjoining areas.
Likewise, light to moderate spell was witnessed in Palwal, Nuh, Ambala, Panchkula, Karnal, and Bhiwani districts.
Heavy rainfall in Chandigarh and Punjab not only brought respite from the heatwaves but also led to traffic jams and waterlogging. However, the residents were happy to receive the intense rainfall.
As per the India Meteorological Department's (IMD), a thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain is likely in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, Delhi is expected to record minimum and maximum temperatures of 25 and 32 degrees Celsius, respectively.
