Himachal Pradesh, October 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the AIIMS, Bilaspur. The state-of-the-art hospital has been constructed at a cost of more than Rs 1,470 crores.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and BJP president JP Nadda were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
AIIMS, Bilaspur is a state-of-the-art hospital, comprising 18 speciality and 17 super-speciality departments along with 18 modular operation theatres and 750 beds, including 64 ICU beds.
The hospital, which spans 247 acres, is equipped with 24-hour emergency and dialysis facilities, as well as advanced diagnostic machines like ultrasonography, CT scan, and MRI. It also features a Jan Aushadhi Kendra and an AYUSH block with 30 beds.
PM Modi lay the foundation stone for the newly built hospital in October 2017, and it is part of the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
Meanwhile, during his visit to Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the famous Kullu Dussehra celebrations.
The International Kullu Dussehra Festival will be held on Dhalpur Ground in Kullu from October 5 to 11. The festival is unique in that it is a gathering of worshippers of more than 300 valley deities. It will be the first time ever that the PM will join in the celebrations.
The PM will also lay the foundation for a Rs 1,690 crore project to four-lane NH-105 from Pinjore to Nalagarh.
Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundations for the Medical Device Park in Nalagarh, which will cost roughly Rs 350 crore to construct.
