Hooch Tragedy in Aligarh: As many as five people died while 22 more were hospitalised after consuming spurious liquor in a village in Aligarh. It comes days after another hooch tragedy resulted in the death of at least 35 in Aligarh, the police said on Thursday. On Wednesday night, some brick kiln labourers fell sick. Reportedly, they had consumed countrymade liquor dumped in a canal near Rohera village in the Jawan area. Over 8,000 children test positive in 1 district The Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani said that it appeared that some persons involved in the spurious liquor trade had dumped their entire stock in the canal. Hooch Tragedy in Aligarh: As many as five people died while 22 more were hospitalised after consuming spurious liquor in a village in Aligarh. This is the second hooch tragedy reported from the district in recent days. Earlier, at least 35 people died after consuming illicit liquor. The officials fear some of them may have died of the same cause while many people suffered eye damage and vision loss. In the second incident, the brick kiln workers had found the liquor cartons dumped in the canal. They were all celebrating, however, they fell ill shortly after consuming the countrymade brew. The Chief Superintendent of Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College hospital, Dr. Harris Manzur, said that five people died so far while three of them were brought dead.
