Hyderabad to sing bow wow with India's first dog park Dog lovers have every reason to smile as the Telangana government would soon be inaugurating the first ever pet park in the country! The construction of the park is now complete. A dog lover himself, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, son of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, tweeted “The first park in India developed to international standards for pets and pet parents has been certified by the Kennel Club of India.” The park is constructed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, and has been built behind Hotel Radisson at Gachibowli at a cost of Rs 1.1 crore. It is a park which is built mainly for dogs. It offers many kind of recreational and obstacles activities. According to the sources, the facility was based on the pattern of some international parks. Also Read: Chandigarh Municipal Corporation will not increase water rates for now It has many facilities like dog training equipment, play equipment, off leash areas for exercise, splash pool, sprinkler fountain, amphitheatre, two lawns, separate enclosures for big and small dogs and a clinic. There already exists a dog park on Necklace Road where people bring pets for “pet interaction,” but the one in Kondapur has been built by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation as per international standards and, thus, qualifies as the “first pet park”. -PTC NEWS
