A minor girl was drugged and repeatedly gang-raped by a relative and a group of youths for 3 years in Hyderabad, police said on Monday.

On Sunday, the relatives of the victim staged a ‘dharna’ outside a police station. They alleged that the prime accused was made a witness in the case. Following which the police arrested the fourth accused in the case. The victim (16) studying in 12th standard told the police that seven or more people were involved in the crime.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjali Kumar briefed the media that the girl had given some more names and they all will be arrested soon. She further assured that no will be able to escape.

On December 25, the victim lodged the complaint with the police that she was raped by her relative in 2015 and continued in the following years. With time, his friends joined him in this heinous crime.

What exactly happened?

Rajesh Mudda alias Raju, cousin of the victim was staying for a while with her family in Murali Nagar in Hyderabad. He raped her after giving her sedatives in her soft drinks. He took nude pictures and videos on his mobile phone. After some time, Raju shifted to another house and told his friends about this. He then shared those videos and pictures with them. Shubham Vyas, Abhijit and others used to blackmail the girl and rape her. The accused gave her pills to terminate the pregnancy.
