ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Scotland announces 15-member squad for the tournament

Edinburgh (Scotland), September 22: Scotland on Thursday announced a 15-player team for this year's ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. Josh Davey and Brad Wheal, who both performed well during various stages of last year's edition of the tournament in the UAE, have been selected in a strong squad that experienced batter Richard Berrington will captain. Richie Berrington will lead the team. The squad also includes Chris Greaves who made his debut at last year's ICC T20 World Cup scoring a match-winning 45 versus Bangladesh. Matt Cross will keep wicket and deputise for Berrington. Brandon McMullen, a young batter has also earned a call-up. While, experienced seamers Ali Evans and Gavin Main miss out on the final 15, highly-rated batter Oliver Hairs is also a notable absentee. Scotland's improving team will rely heavily on Berrington for the majority of their runs, while veteran duo Henry Munsey and Calum MacLeod are also capable of scoring well. Berrington's experience will be useful in Scotland's top order, as the 35-year-old smashed two half-centuries and contributed a team-high 177 runs in last year's tournament.
