IHIT: Body of Surrey young woman, 19, found in burned-out SUV
The 19 year old young woman of the Kwantlen Polytechnic University was found burnt in a SUV on Wednesday early morning in Surrey, British Columbia. Surrey RCMP arrived on the scene of a vehicle fire in the 18700-block of 24 Avenue at 12:10 a.m. After putting out the flames, they found a female body that had injuries consistent with homicide. The victim was identified as Bhavkiran Dhesi. Kiran left her home on Tuesday at 9pm to meet her friends. Three hours later, about 12:20 AM the body was found in a burnt out SUV which belonged to her family. Integrated Homicide investigation Team (IHIT) said evidence suggests, she was murdered in a different location and the body and the car were burnt away to hide another crime committed. Cpl. Meghan Foster with the homicide team says the death of the young college student is a crushing blow to her family and they are suffering terribly. “She spent the last couple of years struggling with some health issues and she had recently recovered from a kidney transplant,” according to IHIT Cpl. Meghan Foster. Anguish has taken over the social media, as friends promise to fight for Kiran under the hashtag #justiceforkiran. Police say investigators have been speaking with persons of interest but no arrests have yet been made.
