IIT Guwahati student found hanging in hostel room
A student of Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati was found hanging in his hostel room in the college premises on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Pannem Pavan Siddardha from Andhra Pradesh.

The incident came into light when the parents of Pannem called one of his friends around 5 pm asking him to connect with their son as he was not picking up his phone. When his friend entered the room, he found Pannem’s body hanging from the ceiling. The authorities rushed him to the campus hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The body of Pannem has been kept in the morgue. The autopsy will be conducted after his parents arrive from Andhra Pradesh. Police has registered the case and ordered a probe into the matter. No suicide was recovered by the police.
Pannem was a final year student of Electronics and Communications B.Tech programme. He was living in a single-seater hostel room.
