IMD weather report: Giving weather forecast in Punjab, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted cold to severe cold days over Punjab in the next 24 hours.
Punjab, on Sunday, witnessed extreme cold waves as the temperature dipped to around 7 Celsius. On Monday and Tuesday, the weather forecast has predicted a 6-degree temperature in Punjab.

The IMD, giving a weather report, stated that "Cold day to severe Cold day condition at a few places very likely over Punjab during the next 24 hours.
Likewise, the cold day condition at isolated places very likely over Haryana and Chandigarh and northwest Rajasthan during the next 24 hours."
"Dense fog in isolated pockets very likely over Jammu division, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh, northwest Rajasthan, northwest Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya and Tripura on December 14," the IMD stated.

"Fall in minimum temperatures by 3-5°C over most parts of northwest India during the next 4 days," it stated.
"No significant change in minimum temperatures over most parts of Central and East India during next 2-3 days and fall by 2-4°C thereafter," the Indian Meteorological Department stated.
