IMD predicts heavy rainfall over north, east India for next three-four days
IMD Weather Update: Heavy rainfall is likely over north and east India during the next three-four days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Monday.
As per the report, the IMD stated that the low-pressure area over northwest Madhya Pradesh was less marked, however, the associated cyclonic circulation is still there.

Another cyclonic circulation lies over the North Bay of Bengal, under which a low-pressure area was likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood around July 28.

Due to these, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh till July 29.
Likewise, extremely heavy rain is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on July 27 and 28 and over northwest Uttar Pradesh on July 27.
There will be an enhanced rainfall activity over east and adjoining central India including Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Jharkhand from July 27, the IMD stated while giving weather updates.
It is pertinent to mention that over 160 people have died due to landslides caused by floods in Maharashtra.
