IMD predicts light to moderate rain for Delhi-NCR on September 27
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted light to moderate intensity rain accompanied by thunderstorms for Delhi and adjoining areas on September 27. "Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of Delhi, Aliganj, Kasganj, Sikander Rao, Iglas (UP), Hodal, Gurugram and Tizara," tweeted the IMD on Monday. Also read | US Marine Corps allows Sikh officer to wear turban, but sets limitations Earlier this month, senior scientist Dr RK Jenamani at the IMD said Delhi had received 390 mm rainfall in September, the highest in 77 years. The national capital received the highest 24-hour rainfall this year, in 121 years. The IMD’s Safdarjung observatory, which provides representative data of the city, recorded 1,136.8 mm of rainfall between June 1 and 2.30 pm on September 11.
