Monsoon likely to arrive early in Delhi, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted an early arrival of monsoon in Delhi, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. The IMD also stated that the Southwest Monsoon has arrived in Gujarat and the East Uttar Pradesh. According to the Skymet, the monsoon can arrive over Delhi by June 25-26 while pre-monsoon rains will start pouring in from June 20. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that another low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas around June 19. Directions issued regarding preparedness for impending monsoon season It also stated that monsoon usually reaches parts of Kutch at around June 25, but this time it is almost 10 days early. Likewise, in the Central and Eastern parts of the country, either monsoon comes on time or slightly ahead by a day or two.
