Delhi Capitals has named Rishabh Pant as Captain for IPL 2021 that would commence on April 9. Pant will step in as captain for the 14th edition of the tournament, for the injured Shreyas Iyer, who injured his left shoulder during the recently concluded India-England ODI series. DC Chairman and Co-owner Kiran Kumar Grandhi said, “I would like to wish Shreyas a speedy recovery.” Adding, he said that “Under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy, the team reached newer heights, and he is going to be missed immensely. In his absence, the franchise has picked Rishabh Pant to lead Delhi Capitals this year."
