Increase of Electricity Duty from 13% to 15% in Rural Areas by Punjab Government
The rate of electricity duty has been increased by 2 percent from 13 percent to 15 percent ad-valorem (tariff) in the rural areas with effect from 1 April 2018 on the Electricity supplied to all categories of Consumers by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, a formal notification said.
As such electricity duty shall be 13% and 15% ad-valorem (tariff) in urban and rural areas respectively, it added.
