IND vs ENG T20I series 2021: Amid upsurge in coronavirus, the remaining three T20Is between India and England in Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, will be played behind closed doors.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in consultation with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) decided to organise the final three T20Is between India and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium behind closed doors.

The decision was taken following a detailed discussion with the state and the local health authorities.

It is pertinent to mention that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has ordered the closure of shops, malls, restaurants, and salons after 10 pm in eight wards of the city that had 530 active cases as of 11 am on Monday.

The BCCI said in a statement that it would continue to comply with all the regulations and will always put the health and safety of its fans and stakeholders at the priority.

A person called a police inspector and threatened to self-immolate if the ongoing T20I series between India and England is canceled. He cited coronavirus in Ahmedabad as the reason. He said the gathering in Narendra Modi stadium might pose a risk in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
