Indian, Chinese troops clash near Naku La sector in North Sikkim

The armed troops of nuclear-armed neighbours India and China clashed along a section of the boundary in North Sikkim that led to the injuries to at least 11 troops, including four from the Indian side. The aggressive behaviour and minor injuries to both sides took place, the sources confirmed. As per the report, some 150 troops are believed to have been involved in the incident in which blows were exchanged. In 2017 at Pangong Tso (lake) in eastern Ladakh, the troops had hurled stones at each other. "Troops disengaged after the dialogue and the interaction at the local level,” the Army officials confirmed on Sunday morning about the incident that took place in Sikkim. At least four Indian troops and seven Chinese troops are said to have sustained injuries. The incident took place on Saturday near the ‘Naku La sector’ ahead of Muguthang, a pass at an altitude of more than 16,000 feet. Meanwhile, India and China have an un-demarcated 3448 km boundary called the Line of Actual Control (LAC) running along the Himalayan ridgeline in an east-west alignment.
