India A Popular Destination For Chinese Travelers According to a survey, India is ranked among top 10 popular destinations for Chinese travelers in Asia, especially for the generation who is more engaged on Social media websites. The India Tourism statistics 2017, India welcomed more than 2 lakh Chinese tourists in the year 2017. Arguably, 51 per cent of the Chinese travelers visited Delhi and 60 per cent travelers preferred Mumbai and these both cities emerged as the top visited cities. Star-struck by global pop-culture, film and television are really one of the main sources of inspiration for the Chinese millennial travelers. Out of the percentage, Chinese travelers who expressed their interest in visiting the timeless monument of LOVE i.e. Taj Mahal and nearly 40 per cent of the Chinese travelers wanted to visit India as it is their favorite serial or movie location. Hotels.com brand general manager, Asia Pacific, Nelson Allen said, "While millennials were at the helm of social media influence and trends, the report found no generation was free from social networking's undeniable draw."
