India records highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases, tally nears 34 lakh

Coronavirus cases in India see the highest spike in cases as they reach 33.87 lakh with a spike of 77,266 fresh cases and 1057 deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the health ministry, the COVID-19 case tally in the country stands at 33,87,501 including 7,42,023 active cases, and 25,83,948 cured/discharged/migrated & 61,529 deaths.

Maharashtra has 178561 active cases, with 531563 recovered and 23444 deceased and 733568 confirmed cases.

Tamil Nadu is still on the second spot with 52364 active cases, 343930 recovered casesand 6948 deceased and 403242 confirmed cases.
