Coronavirus: BCCI calls off India tours to Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe

India's tours of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe have been called off by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the wake of the current threat of coronavirus, the board secretary Jay Shah said in a statement on Friday. The Indian cricket team was scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and as many T20Is starting June 24, and later to Zimbabwe for three ODIs starting August 22. Sri Lanka has around 700 active coronavirus cases. Therefore, the Sri Lanka Cricket board was pushing hard to restart cricket in the country by holding a residential training camp for 12 of its players. After the first match in Dharamsala was washed out, the BCCI had decided to conduct the remaining two matches behind closed doors. However, the two boards decided to reschedule the series in the wake of the Covid-19 situation.
