IND vs NZ 2nd Test: Can India stage a comeback?

India vs New Zealand 2nd Test: After suffering defeat in the first-Test at Wellington, India is all set to take on New Zealand in the second Test at Hagley Oval in Christchurch from Saturday. New Zealand has already gained a lead in the two-match Test series.

India whitewashed Kiwis in the T20 series

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were phenomenal in the 5-match T20 series, while New Zealand was not able to win a single match despite its amazing batting. Kiwis were not able to lead its amazing batting to the finish.

New Zealand bounced back and whitewashed in ODI series

Ross Taylor who was failing to finish the matches in the T20 series was dominant throughout the ODI series. He was named player of the series for his exceptional batting.

Jamieson/Southee/Boult outclass India

The 25-year-old debutant Kyle Jamieson was on the roll in the first innings when he three big fishes and a tail-ender. He dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Hanuma Vihari and Ishant Sharma. Likewise, Southee dismissed Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami. In the second innings, Southee took five-wicket haul as he dismissed Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Ashwin and Bumrah. Meanwhile, Boult was also on fire as he sent back big fishes – Shaw, Pujara, Kohli and Rahane – to pavilion. Where did India fail?

India failed in its batting line-up as, except Mayank Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane, no batsman was able to face the ball in the windy condition. Also, Indian bowlers were not able to build pressure on the Kiwis. As a result, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor took charge of the crease and took the team to a huge lead.
