Virat Kohli has his say on ICC World Test Championship format

The first season of the ICC World Test Championship is underway. There have been some questions on the format of the tournament. As per the International Cricket Council (ICC), the total number of points allotted for a series is 120, be it two-match series or five. Meanwhile, South African skipper Faf Du Plessis spoke on the points system being complicated. https://twitter.com/BCCI/status/1181827887235649536?s=20 Likewise, Indian skipper Virat Kohli suggested if it was up to him, the away teams would get double the points for winning a Test than winning a home Test.  Virat Kohli attended the press conference ahead of the second Test against the Proteas. It is scheduled to be played at Pune, that has been given a ‘poor’ rating by the ICC in 2017. https://twitter.com/BCCI/status/1181840123589054465?s=20 Proteas skipper Faf Du Plessis further said on Test Championship and suggested: “It’s complicated. Shorter the Test series the more points you get. In two Tests you get 120 points and in the five-match Test series, you have to win 5-0 to get 120 points, which is just difficult. I have noticed that there will always be holes and flaws in the systems.” Also Read | ICC World Test Championship begins, Virat Kohli-led Team India to compete against other eight teams Meanwhile, Kohli suggested possible team composition. Kohli isn’t of the thought that India needs to change the winning combination. Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Shami were the four mainstream bowlers among the playing XI in Visakhapatnam Test. Therefore, India is most likely to be unchanged as the team heads into the Pune Test on Thursday. -PTC News
