India vs West Indies: India clinched the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies in Cuttack on Sunday. With dominating batting from Indian Skipper Virat Kohli, opener KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma, Men in Blue defeated West Indies in the final and decider ODI match.
Virat Kohli smashed magnificent half-century scoring 85 runs, while Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul scored 63 and 77 runs, respectively. However, the triplets went back to pavilion but rest of the tail-enders took the lead and finished it off in style. The middle-order comprising Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Kedhar Jadhav, went back to pavilion after scoring 7, 7 and 9, respectively.
Meanwhile, the tail-enders Ravindra Jadeja and Shradul Thakur were enjoying the moment. Jadeja scored 39 runs off 31 balls including 4 boundaries. Shardul Thakur played a cameo of 17 runs off just 6 balls that include 2 boundaries and 1 six. Thereafter, Indian skipper Virat Kohli shared a picture on the Instagram with Shardul Thakur.
Viral Kohli captioned: “Tula maanla re Thakur ???.” It roughly translates to “Maan gye tujhe Thakur or hats off to you Thakur”. Meanwhile, Indian skipper Virat Kohli finished 2019 with the most international runs scored for the 4th year in a row, extending his own record going back to 2016. Also, he was named Man of the Match for his 85 runs in Cuttack.
