Indian Railways to sack 13,000 employees on unauthorized leave: The Indian Railways has determined more than 13,000 employees in its ranks who are on “unauthorised” leave for a long time and initiated disciplinary action to terminate their services, added on Friday. Railways minister Piyush Goyal asked the top brass to launch a massive drive to identify long term absentees in various railway establishments. More than 13,000 out of 13 lakh workforce were absent from service for a long time without authorization during the drive. A railways statement said, "The establishment has initiated disciplinary action under the rules to terminate services of such absentees." Railways have instructed all the officers and supervisors to weed out these employees from the rolls after following due process, it added. -PTC News-
