India women whitewashed South Africa in the three-match ODI series on Monday. In third ODI, the hosts defeated Proteas by 6 runs in a low-scoring match at Reliance Stadium, Vadodara. India won the toss and elected to bat first, where opener Priya Punia was dismissed for a duck by Ismail in the first over. In her second over, Ismail took another wicket, this time another opener Jemimah Rodrigues (3).

Punam Raut and skipper Mithali Raj moved the scoreboard slowly and were dismissed on 15 and 11 runs, respectively. Harmanpreet Kaur (38) was the highest run-scorer in the 3rd ODI. However, she was bowled by Kapp. Prior to her, Shikha Pandey played brilliant innings of 35 runs off 40 balls. Proteas restricted India to a low score of 146. But this total was not an easy chase.
Indian spinner Ekta Bisht along with Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad posed difficulties for the visitors. Ekta took 3 wickets, while Deepti and Gayakwad bagged 2 wickets each. South Africa was all-out on 140. Ekta Bisht was named the Player of the match for the three-wicket haul. Meanwhile, South African player Marizanne Kapp was awarded as Player of the series for her exceptional all-rounder performance throughout.
