Instead of resolving issues of Punjab, Congress leadership trying to defame SAD: Chandumajra
SIT on Saturday questioned the Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal for over 4 hours during an investigation of the Kotkapura firing case. Following summon by the SIT, the SAD President reached the Punjab Police Officer Institute, Sector 32, in Chandigarh at around 11 am on Saturday.
After Sukhbir Singh Badal left the premises, Shiromani Akali Dal held a press conference slamming the Congress leadership for defaming SAD.

Senior SAD leaders Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Daljit Singh Cheema, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra were present during the press conference. Chadumajra said that the role of SIT in the Kotkapura firing case was being politicized by Congress.

Balwinder Singh Bhunder said that the SIT was being run by the Congress leadership. He said that Congress was trying to set Punjab on fire. The hidden agenda of the Congress has come to the fore, he said.
Maheshinder Singh Grewal said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had run away from the promises that he made in his election manifesto. "If you call 100 times, we will go," he said, adding that the Gandhi family's plan was to discredit the Shiromani Akali Dal.
Daljit Singh Cheema said that the hidden agenda of Congress has come to the fore. SAD objected to Sunil Jakhar's statement. The new SIT Is being given full support by the Akali Dal, he said.
Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that the agenda of Punjab government was to discredit the Badal family. Congress has flouted the rules of the High Court. He said that the statement of Sunil Jakhar clarified the plans of Captain Amarinder Singh. Instead of resolving the issues of Punjab, the Congress leadership was trying to discredit the Badal family.
