The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, granted bail to former finance minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media case. A bench of justices R Banumathi, AS Bopanna and Hrishikesh Roy granted bail to P Chidambaram, who was in CBI custody. https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1186509136395034624 The apex court had reserved the order on October 18 and Chidambaram challenged the Delhi High Court order disimissing his bail plea. However, this does not come as a breather to Chidambaram, who is also in Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody till October 24. The court said, "He can be released provided that he is not arrested in any other case and on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. However, he has to make himself available for further interrogation." Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opposed the bail plea on the grounds that the former finance minister tried to pressurize and influence key witnesses in the INX Media case.
