Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday briefed the Rajya Sabha members on air pollution in Delhi. He said, “In order to abate and control air pollution in Delhi-NCR, we have undertaken several initiatives. A high level task force was constituted under the chairmanship of the Principal Secy to the Prime Minister. Regular review meetings have been held.”
Adding, he said, “A comprehensive air plan for Delhi-NCR has been developed identifying the timelines and implementing agencies for actions delineated. Centre has notified a graded response action plan for Delhi NCR for different levels of pollution.”
Also, Prakash Javadekar said “The recognition of the problem leads to the start for the solution of the problem.” “It will take time but we are progressing,” he added.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Vijay Goel presented masks, mineral water bottles, air purifier pictures and Delhi Government advertisements during debate on air pollution. To this, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh said, “You cannot display all these objects in the house.”
