J&K: ITBP trooper killed, 34 others injured as bus rolls down into deep gorge
One Indo Tibetan Border Police jawan (ITBP) was killed and 34 others were injured after the bus they were travelling plunged into a deep gorge on Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday. The accident took place near Khoni nalllah on Srinagar-Jammu highway.

According to the media reports, the bus was carrying 35 ITBP men. They were returning to Jammu after concluding their duties in the recent Panchayat polls in the state. Thus bus skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge.

The Station House Officer (SHO), Vijay Kotwal, told that one ITBP personnel has been killed, while 34 others have been evacuated and have been rushed to the nearby hospital. Five of them were stated to in the critical state. The critically injured ITBP personnel were airlifted to the GMC Jammu. The Deputy Commissioner of the area, Ramban Showkat Aijaz, also confirmed the news.
