Jalandhar: 50-year-old man murdered, 5th murders in five days
A 50-year-old man was bludgeoned to death in Nurmahal on Tuesday night, making it the fifth murder reported in the past five days in Nakodar. The deceased, Gurpal Singh, was beaten to death by four people of the same village over a land dispute, police said on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Sukhdev Singh, his wife Satinder Kaur, brother Lakhwinder Singh and a relative Sucha Singh, have been booked. The deceased’s brother, Kulbir Singh, in his complaint said his brother was attacked with sticks by the accused family. The first information report (FIR) states, “Gurpal, in a bid to save himself from the blows, tried to run away from his house, but collapsed soon after and died on the spot owing to severe head injuries inflicted by accused.” On Monday, a man and his 14-year-old son were found murdered at Talwandi Salem village of the subdivision. The bodies of Puran and his son Sandeep were found in mutilated condition. On Saturday, an Addi village resident had allegedly killed his sister-in-law Lovepreet Kaur, 25, and her paramour Ashu, 28, after he spotted them together at their house. -PTC News
