Nine terrorists killed in 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir, one soldier martyred

The Indian Army on Sunday stated that nine terrorists have been killed by the security forces in the last 24 hours in Kashmir valley. The Army sources revealed that while 4 terrorists were killed on Saturday in Batpura in South Kashmir, five other terrorists were eliminated along with Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector. Meanwhile, the terrorists killed in the Keran sector were trying to infiltrate from across LoC. The sources also said that during this operation, one Indian Army soldier lost his life while 2 more were critically injured. Meanwhile, the operations to evacuate the injured have been hampered by the heavy snow and rough terrain conditions. The operation is still in progress. As per the report, the troops of 18 battalion of the CRPF, SOG of JKP and 9 Rashtriya Rifles conducted a search operation in the area when they made contact with the terrorists, reportedly, affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen. After a brief encounter, all four militants were eliminated. The terrorists were accused of reportedly killing civilians over the last 12 days, four such killings took place in South Kashmir. Likewise, an operation was launched this morning by the Police, Special Forces and the Indian Army in which all four of them were neutralized. -PTC News
