Jammu and Kashmir : Encounter breaks out in Shopian An encounter started between militants and security forces in in Shopian in Kashmir on Monday morning. The security forces including personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police cordoned off the area. According to a police official, the gunfight started after security forces launched search operation following input about the presence of terrorists in the area. Meanwhile,mobile and internet services have been suspended in south Kashmir's Shopian district. Earlier this week, four Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed in Shopian district during a pre-dawn search operation. An Army paratrooper was also killed in the encounter. - PTC News
